Category: Home and Garden Review: As a cat owner, I understand the frustration of having my furry friend scratch on furniture or plants. Not only does it damage the item, but it can also be unsightly and expensive to repair. That's why I was excited to try out these various products that claim to deter cats from scratching. First up is ScratchPause Cat Nail Caps. These are small plastic covers that you place on your cat's claws as an alternative to declawing. They are designed to be durable and easy to apply, making them a great option for those who don't want to permanently alter their cat's paws. While they do seem effective at preventing scratching, I found the caps to be quite bulky and uncomfortable for my cat. Additionally, they can be difficult to remove if your cat decides to shed its claws. Next on my list is Kitty Safe, Soft, Harbors Cat Repellent and Trainer - Cat Repellent Spray Indoor - 4 oz | Cat Training Spray | Cat Repellent for Furniture | Cat Repellent for Plant. This product claims to be a natural solution to cat scratching, using ingredients like rosemary oil and lemongrass to deter cats from scratching on furniture or plants. While it does seem effective at repelling my cat, I found the scent to be quite strong and overpowering. Additionally, it's important to note that this product is not safe for humans or pets to ingest. I also tried out Panther Armor Furniture Protectors from Cat Scratch - 8(Eight)-Pack – Couch Guards for Cats - 4-Pack XL 17"L 12"W + 4-Pack Large 17"L 10"W. These are large, durable covers that you place on your furniture to protect it from cat scratches. While they do seem effective at preventing damage, they can be quite expensive and may not fit all types of furniture. Another product I tried is Cat Guard Pro Pet Safe Furniture Cat Repellent - 4oz Spray Bottle. This product claims to be a safe and effective solution for cat scratching on furniture. It uses natural ingredients like lavender oil and peppermint oil to deter cats from scratching, and it's also safe for humans and pets to ingest. While it does seem effective at repelling my cat, the scent can be quite strong and overpowering. Finally, I tried out Nature's Miracle Just for Cats Calming Spray Stress Reducing Formula, 8-ounce (P-5780), which claims to help reduce stress in cats and deter them from scratching on furniture or plants. While it does seem effective at reducing my cat's stress levels, I found the scent to be quite strong and overpowering. Overall, while these products do seem effective at deterring cats from scratching, they can be quite expensive and may not fit all types of furniture. Additionally, some of them have a strong scent that can be overpowering for both humans and pets.
